Our church is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Canada & USA.  Our region is our country - Canada - and we have churches in NS, PE, QC, ON, MB, and AB. In our denomination, we have no creeds, which simply means we read the Bible and ask God to give us insight into what He wants to speak to us about through His Word to us.  Each church is autonomous, meaning we are self-governing, but we are part of a Region which gives us association with others like us across Canada.  We have a bi-annual Regional Assembly where we come together for worship, to learn from leaders, to share time with one another, and to develop bonds with others from other churches.  We practice a believer's baptism, and we take part in communion each week.  We are a church that is big on social justice, and we have a passion for reaching out to those in need and advocating for them.

McKernan Christian Church has a vision for ministry:

To be a growing community of loving, forgiving, and caring believers, who share their lives with each other, and  who are committed to serving God by serving others. 

We endeavour to be "reaching out" to serve those in need, to be "serving God by serving others". Sharing the love of Jesus with those around us allows us to meet and share our lives with others, both inside and outside the walls of our church building.  Come and share the experience!
